Bremont Vulcan

Bremont Vulcan

Inspired by the Avro Vulcan, a jet-powered, tailless, delta wing, high-altitude strategic bomber that was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 to 1984, the Bremont Vulcan timepiece was born. Founded in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English, Bremont is a proudly British watchmaker who has created some of the world's most pioneering aviation and pilot watches in the industry.

This brand-new limited-edition watch is truly something special. Limited to only 250 pieces, the Bremont Vulcan joins the brilliant Bremont Armed Forces Collection. Staying true to Bremont’s classic style, the Vulcan features details that are synonymous with the aircraft from the timepiece that takes its inspiration.

Featuring a matte black dial with a second’s sub-dial, a two-tone camouflage design, and an elapsed minutes 3 o’clock counter features a nuclear symbol indicating the arsenal carried onboard. Legibility and visibility are key for this timepiece, so the Vulcan has had Super-LumiNova added to the dial and other features of this watch. The new addition of skeletonised cathedral minute and hour hands are complimented by an RAF blue chronograph hand.

The case back of this timepiece is just as stunning, featuring an engraving of the Avro B-1 Bomber and the heraldic badge of the Royal Air Force encircled with the inscription “Approved by Her Majesty’s Armed Forces”, at the time of approval, the Ministry of Defence was still under Her Majesty’s reign. Once His Majesty’s crest has been decreed, all case backs within the Bremont Armed Forces Collection will be updated accordingly.

Giles English Co-Founder of Bremont said “The Vulcan’s legacy as a symbol of British military power and technological innovation continues to be celebrated today, and it remains one of the most iconic aircraft of the Cold War era. As aviators ourselves, celebrating such remarkable aircraft and feats of engineering is truly inspirational and it’s fitting to incorporate these commemorative pieces within our Armed Forces Collection through Bremont’s partnership with the MoD.”

Although the Vulcan was retired from service in 1984 due to military priorities, a small amount of these aircraft have been preserved and restored. The Vulcan was the second V Bomber of the Royal Air Force, like the Valiant and Victor, the Vulcan was a crucial part of Great Britain’s nuclear deterrent force. This timepiece pays homage to His Majesty’s Armed Forces in a luxurious manner.
